Scott Hanken saved my life. Prior to this id not been in a situation where I'd needed a lawyer. Throughout the entire process he made sure I was aware of what was going on with my case, what my options were, and was always prompt. He delivered in everything that he said he would and even found an additional paperwork error that worked in my favor. I definitely will and have recommended Scott to others.


If I could give Scott Hanken 6 stars I would, I called 2 weeks prior to my court date with multiple charges against me, He gave me a great price for his services and got my charges dropped. I would personally recommend him to anyone needing legal services.

Was my first mess up legally and it was pretty major through just what laws I acted against, didn’t know what to expect and was freaking out until my court date. Scott called and let me know that all I have to pay is a fraction of a fine, and a months supervision. Honest to God this man is incredible at what he does.

Driving home from St Louis, halfway home my path crossed a Sangamon officer in a little sting among the interstate. I was ticketed and Officer Friendly (not his real name) provided anxiety-provoking information about an upcoming mandatory court date and all of the costly fines and court fees I could expect as my punishment. After losing one night of sleep, I reached out to family and friends for advice on how to proceed which included finding a Sangamon County attorney. Mr. Hanken came with the highest of recommendations. I was immediately reassured as Carrie explained what to expect. My presence in court on the “mandatory” date 3 weeks later would NOT be necessary. Scott would be handling everything — and I didn’t need to be in court unless Scott told me I needed to be there. For a fraction of the price Officer Friendly quoted me, Scott worked on my behalf to review my case, attend my hearings and have the charges successfully dismissed. My only regret: That I didn’t know to reach out to Scott before I tossed and turned the evening of the ticket. Thank you, Scott. I had a small fender bender in Springfield...cops showed up and gave me a failure to reduce speed ticket...i hired Scott to reduce it to a non-moving violation....prosecutor wouldn't budge so Scott had it go to trial...i live in St. Louis...Scott kept me informed with all aspects of the case in real time...told me to just stay in St. Louis on the day of the trial to see how it was gonna play out...well the day before the trial he called and told me they dismissed the ticket...there couldn't have been a better outcome...no money to the courts no court supervision...I'm 60 years old and have NEVER had a lawyer get a ticket dismissed....yes now i have an accident on my record but not compounded by a ticket to go with it..best experience I've ever had with a lawyer 👍

Scott is a phenomenal attorney. If you find yourself looking for the best criminal defense in Central Illinois, you have without a doubt found your guy. I was fighting a lengthy sentence for drug charges and Scott was able to negotiate a plea for a first offender program. 2 years probation with no time served, minimal community service, and no travel restrictions.
